NAIL ART

I think it is safe to say there is a nail obsession going on nowadays. Nails have become the new fashion accessory and everyone from celebrities to the average girl is showing off their intricate designs for the world to see thanks to the popular app Instagram.

Apparently, we have the London based nail artist Sharmadean Reid to blame for the nail trend. She opened the first WAH Nails salon in Dalston in 2009, after she had another bad experience at a local nail salon. Today WAH nails can be found at two additional locations; in Topshop in Oxford Street and in Stratford. WAH Nails has become the nail salon to go to and they do all kinds of amazing patterns and themes for your nails, with a motto: “Whatever you wanted on your fingertips”.

Sharmadean Reid launched the WAH Nails Book of Nail Art in July 2012, packed with tips and ideas on how to decorate your own nails if you can’t afford the weekly manicure. This certainly is something that will interest the fashionable nail fixated girl - if nail blogs and Instagram pictures are any indication.

This is the time to experiment with nail art - and what better than to start with painting the flag of your nationality on your nails to show loyalty during the Olympic games - or the Olympic rings if you want to be diplomatic?
