KATE MIDDLETON IN MCQUEEN FOR THE QUEENS JUBILEE

The four-day Diamond Jubilee celebrations are over and the weather has decided to remain typically British with the continuous downpour. Patriotism from the nation was shown with the thousands of meters of bunting, constant flag waving and Union Jack themed decorations hung on the exterior of homes and cars. Members of the Royal Family had a different idea. Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge paid tribute to the Queen with various frocks worn in the national colours with Alexander McQueen’s pieces as particular favourites. With feminine and elegant designs, it’s easy to see why the Duchess loves Sarah Burton’s work. The British designer’s masterpieces seem to be Kate’s first port of call since the creation of her wedding dress.

Sunday’s River Pageant celebrations saw Kate’s arrival in a Alexander McQueen scarlet pleated dress. Seen previously on Kim Kardashian and Tulisa Contostavlos, Kate’s choice had been especially modified with a longer length, boat neck detailing and added sleeves. Complete with a Lock and Co. hat and her go-to nude shoes (L.K. Bennett Sledge heels), she certainly did not disappoint. The Duchess is truly a genius when it comes to high-street and high-fashion mix and match.

Pairing Whistles’ ‘Bella’ bodycon dress with an Alexander McQueen black blazer, Kate’s love for the high street was shown yet again at the Jubilee concert. The £150 multi-petal dress has since sold out; it’s not difficult to see why she’s hailed as the nation’s sweetheart and a leading fashion icon. Tuesday’s Jubilee Thanksgiving service at St. Paul’s Cathedral saw another Alexander McQueen number as Kate wore a custom made blush lace dress. The elegant frock featured delicate detailing, a satin ribbon at the waist and long lace sleeves. The Duchess matched her dress with a Prada clutch, Jane Taylor hat and her signature L.K. Bennett heels. She can do no wrong with her fashion choices!
