HUSSEIN CHALAYAN A/W2012 - SPORTSWEAR HIGH FASHION

Looking for an extraordinary and colourful winter? This season, Chalayan got his unrestrained design down to earth and created Hussein Chalayan A/W 2012 with double leather jackets in bulky yet relishing avant-garde silhouette, brazenly merging Puma’s sporty elements in his own collection since becoming chief designer in Puma. It must be very frustrating to Chalayan’s fans for not being able to wear his abstract conceptual products before the commercial Grey line launched. But we all know the boundary between Grey and Black line was blurred since even within Grey line there are leather leggings or coat cost more than a thousand pounds.

This season could arguably a breakthrough. Applying sportswear material and new technology that learnt from Puma into this newest collection, Chalayan clips breathable fluorescent sports clothing into Italian plush, turns a winter coat into a breathable and cold preservation must-buy item in wintertime. The choice of colour may be a risk for street wear considering not much people are willing to hang around in flo green or fluorescent orange, the dramatic contrast of neon colour and black indicating his everlasting design notion - always challenge the boundary!
